The start of De Lambikstoempers vzw

The beer taster association De Lambikstoempers have been set up in the year 99 of the previous century by a couple beer lovers from the region of Halle in the Pajottenland. At that time on the national plan, however, the vzw Objective Beer Tasters (OBP) – meanwhile ceased to exist – existed , who, beside its direct members, united local associations.

In the heart of the Pajottenland there was however no regional beer taster association active. De Lambikstoempers filled up this vacuum.

The objectives of De Lambikstoempers vzw

The Lambikstoempers are present a local association of the new national beer taster association Zythos vzw. In the first place we have the same objectives of Zythos. In official words this is: the conservation and promotion of Belgian beer culture by:

• organising and/or stimulating projects, of all kinds, which promote the Belgian beers and their tastes.
• accusing irregularities to the consumer.
• the striving towards recognition of Belgian beer as a component of our culture, brewery tradition, life style and gastronomy.

In other words: By means of tastings, topic evenings, brewery visits, trips and everything that has even slightly to do with beer, in a loose and pleasant, but especially objective manner take a closer look and discuss the several aspects of the beer. It goes without saying that we, seen our given region, have a special attention on the lambic beer (Oude Geuze, Oude Kriek, Faro …) without excluding other kinds and styles of beers.

Your personal data are processed by us, De Lambikstoempers vzw (Stevens Dewaelplein 15 at 1502 Lembeek), for membership management, the organization and participation of activities, and to keep you informed of our activities (direct marketing) based upon the above described goals of our organization. If you don’t want us to process your data for direct marketing purposes, you can let us know at lambikstoempers@zythos.be. Through this email address you can also ask which of your data we process and correct them or get them erased or have them transferred.

The personal data mentioned above exclusively concern personal identity data like surname, first name, address, phone number and email address. Other data (like gender, date or place of birth, nationality) aren’t gathered by us and won’t be used. We only use the gathered data for purposes intended at the moment of receiving the data and we don’t share the data with third parties, except Zythos vzw if you’ve chosen to become an A-member of De Lambikstoempers vzw. Zythos vzw is the mother organization of De Lambikstoempers vzw and manages your membership of the magazine De Zytholoog amongst others. As a B-member we guarantee your personal data isn’t distributed to third parties, unless it’s legally obligated and allowed. Your personal data will also be saved no longer then needed for purposes intended at the time of receiving the data or legally obligated.

At all time you have the right to consult, correct and remove the personnel data we received from you. Above this privacy statement is mentioned how to contact us. If necessary you can object to the processing of your personal data (or a part of the data) by us or by one of our processors. You also have the right to transfer the data provided by you to you or directly to a third party. We can ask you to identify yourself before we will perform one of the previously mentioned requests. In case of complaints about the processing of your personal data we ask you to contact us directly. You are always entitled to submit a complaint to the Privacy Commission, this is the monitoring authority on privacy protection. De Lambikstoempers vzw can change its privacy statement if necessary. We will announce this change on our website www.lambikstoempers.be.
