Following the very successful SpontanBasil, Lindemans Brewery just presented the second child in their ‘Botanical Lambics’ family, named BlossomGueuze. They did so at the Horeca Expo in Ghent, in the presence of among others, actor Roel Vanderstukken, who also seems to be a great fan of Old Gueuze.
“The great success of the SpontanBasil was a bit unexpected. It prompted us to think about what herbs or botanicals would still fit well with an acidic Old Gueuze. By using elderflower we produced a more subtler taste. We are confident that way our BlossomGueuze is more accessible”, tells Geert Lindemans, managing director.
Limited edition
BlossomGueuze is an assembly of two to three years old lambic aged in wood, blended with 12 months old lambic with elderflower. After fermentation in the bottle this gueuze has a golden color and combines the sour taste of lambic with the natural and fresh aromas of elderflower. Nice to know: cousins Dirk and Geert Lindemans asked Thomas Locus of the awarded restaurant Bistro Margaux for advice and tips, which led to the creation of this BlossomGueuze.
This beer is once again a limited edition with 10,000 bottles (of 75cl), again provided with an excellent and artfully label. “We got many compliments about the design of our SpontanBasil bottles. So we have done our best for the new BlossomGueuze to create an equally beautiful bottle”, says managing director Dirk Lindemans.
