You probably noticed already, on 29th – 30th of August 2015 we organize our annual Beer Weekend, where you can taste more than 100 different beers, including our homemade Lambooske 2015 beer.

The making of … (VIDEO)

The blending of our Lambooske 2015 occurred on Friday 7th of August, with 30 liters of Lindemans Lambic (+/- 1 year old) and 9 kg of fresh (autumn) raspberries .

Until the start of our Beer Weekend this beer gets the time to macerate and ferment in a barrel.

Our beer list is gradually reaching its final form. A few orders and negotiations enter their final phase. The visitors centre ‘De Lambiek’ is getting into shape. De Lambikstoempers will conquer the museum of the Oude Geuze for the 2nd time on 29th and 30th of August 2015.

Our first time in ‘De Lambiek’ last year had some practical difficulties. This year is our ambition to do better. After thorough evaluation within the board and together with the Municipality of Beersel we hope to serve our customers even better. On 29th and 30th of August from 2 pm you are all welcome in the visitors centre ‘De Lambiek’ in the Gemeenveldstraat, Alsemberg.

Beers in the spotlight

This past year, there have been some very interesting projects in our region. Two new breweries in the territory of Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, one new brewery in Brussels. These make us decide to place the non-lambic-brewing breweries from our region in the spotlight. Belgoo in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw, 4Pajot in Vlezenbeek, En Stoemelings in Brussels are the new achievements and all active as we speak.

Brussels Beer Project is working hard in Brussels and hope to install a new brewery in the Dansaertstraat. De La Senne, Den Herberg and Angerik are our established values.

New beers

Besides our beers in the spotlight, we propose a beer list of 60 or so beers. The past year was one of many novelties. The beer landscape is constantly changing. We therefore present you some of these novelties, plus well established and some innovative beers.

How about a beer filled in aluminum ‘bottles’, or a beer perfumed with Calvados? A beer with pumpkins, an oak aged brown beer with cherries, an IPA with organic hops , and so on.

Spontaneous fermentation

Every corner of our beer country gets attention. In the coming weeks you can follow our beer list closely. Moreover, and to ancient custom, we also have a large Lambic Bar where many lambic beers can be (re)tasted. Some new creations frow Lindemans Brewery and our Cuvée Lambikstoemper (2.5 years in the bottle already) are waiting to be tasted and evaluated.

The result is a beer list of about 100 beers! We sincerely hope to welcome you in the beautiful visitors centre ‘De Lambiek’, 29th and / or 30th of August 2015.

Oud Beersel Green Walnut

New in the Oud Beersel gamma: Green Walnut, a lambic beer with green walnuts.

Except ‘Schaarbeekse’ sour cherries, Gert Christiaens also has a lot of walnuts in his orchard. “We gathered these walnuts, now they’re still green, and added them to our lambic barrels”, explains Gert. “After fermentation in the bottle, the beer is called ‘Green Walnut’.”

Green Walnut is produced in a limited edition and is available now, while stocks last. The Oud Beersel Shop – Laarheidestraat 232 at 1650 Beersel – is open each saturday from 9 am to 2 pm, except on holidays.
