Beer weekend 2017: where do our beers come from?

Beer weekend countries

The Lambikstoempers Beer weekend will be here very soon, 26-27 August 2017 should be marked in everyone’s agenda and … our cellar is starting to get full.

Our Beer list still isn’t complete and will still be growing during the next days and weeks. So keep an eye on our website and the map below! This way you will see at a glance where from and who from our beers originate, this goes for the Belgian as well as for the international beers, which this year are put into the spotlight.

Where do all our beers come from?

Beers in the spotlight

Besides Belgian beers (bottom fermented as well as top, mixed and/or spontaneous fermented) this year we are putting – as mentioned before – also a few foreign beers in the spotlight. By now this list is complete!

The first 20 beers of our Beer Weekend are known

Maybe you’re on holidays or you are preparing to leave? Whatever it is, we wish you a pleasant and nice summer.  With from timer to time a good beer, of spontaneous or other fermentation. Enjoy it, because holidays don’t last forever.

Fortunately, there is comfort: at the end of the summer (and of your vacation?) we again organise our Lambikstoempers Beer Weekend, on 26 and 27 August 2017 to be precize, in the visitor’s center ‘De Lambiek’ at Alsemberg (Beersel).

+100 different beers

As in previous years, we again offer a variety of more than 100 different beers! In addition to our very extensive range of Lambic beers (from the basic brew of Lambic to Geuze and Kriek and fruit beers) and a wide range of Belgisan bottom, top ans spontaneus fermented beers – including a lot of “specials”! –, this year we’re also putting 12 exeptional foreign beers in the spotlight.

In the coming days we are busy collecting and listing these beers. So keep an eye on our website and choose ‘Bierweekend 2017’ from the menu for regular updates. Bit by bit we will lift the veil over which beers you can come and taste during the lst weekend of August.

And see, the first 20 beers are known! Check them out quickly at our Bier list 2017.

Bet that your mouth will immediatly be watery ?

Lambikstoempers Beer weekend wins bronze medal

End 2016 already for the fifth time the Beer Awards Digital Festival was organised by the guys of the beer website www.beerawards.be, a now burly database on all Belgian beers that ever anywhere won a prize. And yes, this year we won a prize too! 😀

badf16

Voting was done throughout the whole month of December 2016. On your favorite beers, divided in several  categories, but also on your … ‘Beer Event of the year’. And it is in this categorie that our Beer weekend – invariably organised during the last full weekend of August – won a bronze medal !

Bronze medal

Unfortunately we couldn’t be present at the ceremony, on Tuesday 7 February 2017 at Jilles Beer & Burgers in Bruges, but in meantime we received our award through digital post. And we’re proud of it! 😉

This way you can also hear it from someone else: our Beer weekend – this year on 26-27 August 2017 – is certainly worth a while! 🙂

In Belgium there are only 2 other events that – according to the 15.000 voters of the #BADF16 – are more worthwhile and these are the “Weekend van het Volkscafé” (gold) and the Brussels Beer Challenge (silver). But of course not all the voters already visited our Beer weekend, otherwise those events wouldn’t have had a chance. Isn’t it? (Just joking guys, congratulations to the other winners!)

The Lambikstoemper

Again this year our blogger Kristof Verhasselt won an award with his beerblog Lambikstoemper.wordpress.com. This edition he received the silver medal in the category ‘Beer website of the Year’. Congratulations! And erh … next time you again go for gold, man! 😉

Let’s drink to that. Cheers!
