Together we studied several types of test forms and on the basis of a series of anonymous beers we investigated whether we subsequently, through our notes, could recognize these beers back and put them in their proper position. A challenge for the flavor and other taste buds! And yes, this will probably become a new way of working for our tastings in the future. To be continued …

Zot van Geuze!

Saturday 1 October from 14.00 to 18.00 at Boelekewis (Alsembergsesteenweg 856 at 1654 Huizingen)

Everyone can come and taste more than 50 Lambic beers of every brewery and blender from the region. Among them also some â€œspecial onesâ€, like Blossom Geuze of Lindemans, Sourblend of Oud Beersel, Vat 79 of Boon and Experimental Raspberry of Hanssens, and finally 3 Lambic’s from the barrel.

There is also animation for the children.

Oktoberfest

Subsequently â€“ from 18.00 on â€“ Boelekewis is transformed into a real Oktoberfest with live muziek from Die Gipfelfreunde and untilÂ 3.00 a party with the Dutch party-dj: DJ Roooy. The thirsty can feast on 1-liter beer glasses. Schol!

For the people who want to enjoy all the fun, but don’t like beer, there is also a cava-bar. All this takes place in the restaurant, outside there is a food stand with stew with Geuze, rabbit with Kriek and other goodies. The entrance is completely free, for “Zot van Geuze!” a s well as for the Oktoberfest. So be sure to come!

We organized our Day(s) of the Old Gueuze slightly earlier this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Streekproducten Centrum (Halle), for which a huge local market was installed in the parking lot. And yes, it was cozy, both in the blazing sun (on Saturday) as under a moody sky (on Sunday). Those who were not there were wrong!
