To those who are currently on Holydays and those whose Holidays are near: enjoy yourselves! And to those who are already back from Holidays … no worries, our Beer Weekend 2019 is coming!
(Also for those who will be back from Holydays by that time, of course.)

Bierweekend 2019 promoteam

Rendez-vous on Saturday August 24 from 14:00 to 00:00 and Sunday August 25 from 14:00 to 20:00.

As always our visitors have the choice out of more than 100 different beers, among which a very extensive bar of Lambic beers (with the base brew Lambic through Oude Geuze and Kriek to fruit beers) and this year – on nthe accasion of our 20th birthday – the 10 favorite beers of the board.

Pictures: Tasting Low-alcoholic beers

February, the month of Toernée Minérale. The month in which many took up the challenge not to consume alcohol for a month… Did we participate? No! Or maybe a little bit, because at this tasting we put low alcoholic beers in the spotlight. Together we judged a dozen beers on color, smell, taste and aftertaste, and we looked at what so little alcohol did with our tasting experiences. And what turned out? Those present felt that this was not immediately worth repeating! If you taste blind (what De Lambikstoempers always do), you usually taste more intense. The general impression was that almost all the beers offered were somewhat ‘watery’ and the use of American hops (citrus / grapefruit) again took too much of the upper hand. According to all those present, the better beer was obviously the Schenenschopper of Hedonis (brewed at ‘t Verzet) or for those who love a stout, the Hello Darkness, My Old Friend of Brewery Angerik. General conclusion: next year we organize a tasting of ‘heavy alcoholic beers’ during Toernée Minérale. 😀

Tielrode once again has a brewery with VBDCK Brewery. The new brewery family De Cock sails with a quirky course but with attention to authenticity and under the motto ‘Untouched by monks’. Today they have eight quirky beers in their range. Time to taste these beers all blind and to ‘think’ about them, we thought. And so it happened … in the tasting room of the Belgoo Brewery of all places.
